           detector (4 mm wide strips and 1 mm resolution along   1454500100034 
           each strip) , the deltaE-E telescopes provided         1454500100035 
           unambiguous Z and A identification for all the light   1454500100036 
           charged particles of interest. The energy calibration  1454500100037 
           of the telescopes was performed with 224Ra and 228Th   1454500100038 
           radioactive sources. This calibration automatically    1454500100039 
           takes the presence of the Mylar foil into account. A   1454500100040 
           software correction was applied for the energy loss    1454500100041 
           in the Au foil.                                        1454500100042 
SAMPLE     The 252Cf source with a strength of the order of 30    1454500100043 
           mu-Ci was sandwiched between two Au foils, each 19     1454500100044 
           mg/cm2 in thickness. These foils were used to stop     1454500100045 
           the fission fragments so that problems associated      1454500100046 
           with the Doppler shift of prompt fission gamma-rays    1454500100047 
           were minimized. In addition, on each side of the       1454500100048 
           source a 0.84 mg/cm2 Mylar foil was added to provide   1454500100049 
           full absorption of a particles emitted in the          1454500100050 
           radioactive decay of 252Cf.                            1454500100051
