C2203 1 12 FACILITY (CYCLO,1USATAM) The experiments were carried out at C2203 1 13 the Cyclotron Institute at Texas A&M University using C2203 1 14 K500 superconducting cyclotron. C2203 1 15 DETECTOR (MAGSP)Evaporation residua were separated and C2203 1 16 momentum analysed using momentum achromat magnetic C2203 1 17 recoil spectrometer MARS. Mars was tuned to transmit C2203 1 18 most probable charge state of the residue. C2203 1 19 (SISD) The evaporation residues were implanted and C2203 1 20 detected at the MARS focal plane by an X1 design C2203 1 21 16-strip position-sensitive silicon strip detector C2203 1 22 having an active area of 50 x 50mm2. C2203 1 23 (MCPLT) To distinguish implantation events a large- C2203 1 24 area (44-cm2) microchannel plate (MCP) detector was C2203 1 25 installed upstream of the Si strip detector.Coincident C2203 1 26 signals in the MCP and the Si strip detector indicated C2203 1 27 an implantation event, whereas radioactive decay eventsC2203 1 28 were seen only in the PSSD. C2203 1 29 METHOD The evaporation residua of the present reactions were C2203 1 30 identified by their characteristic alpha-decay energiesC2203 1 31 INC-SOURCE Beam of 50Ti7+ was accelerated to energy of C2203 1 32 4.9MeV/A. Enriched 50Ti sample with enrichment of C2203 1 33 0.658+-0.018 was produced from 50TiO2 sample by CaH2 C2203 1 34 reduction C2203 1 35 54Cr beam was prepared from metallic powder enriched C2203 1 36 to 0.998+- 0.001.
