C2891001 10 INSTITUTE (1USACAL) C2891001 11 FACILITY (ACCEL,1USACAL) C2891001 12 DETECTOR (IOCH) The methane-filled cloud chamber. C2891001 13 METHOD (REC) The energy distribution of the neutrons was C2891001 14 obtained by observing a large number of recoil C2891001 15 protons in a cloud chamber. From the stopping power C2891001 16 of the gas in the chamber and the range-velocity C2891001 17 curve, the energy of the recoil protons was computed. C2891001 18 ANALYSIS All observed tracks were counted, regardless of their C2891001 19 orientation. When the voltage was increased from 0.5 C2891001 20 MeV to 0.9 MeV the average number of tracks per C2891001 21 expansion increased from 2.7 to 42 with the Be target, C2891001 22 and from 7.1 to 13.4 with the H3PO4 target. These C2891001 23 data have been reduced to an absolute yield. C2891001 24 ERR-ANALYS (DATA-ERR,500.,1000.) The relative yields are much C2891001 25 more accurate than the absolute ones; the latter may C2891001 26 be in error by as much as a factor of 5 or possibly 10.C2891001 27 HISTORY (20230128C) BP C2891001 28 ENDBIB 26 0 C2891001 29 NOCOMMON 0 0 C2891001 30 ENDSUBENT 29 0 C289100199999 SUBENT C2891002 20230128 C227C2891002 1 BIB 3 3 C2891002 2 REACTION (4-BE-9(D,N)5-B-10,,PY,,TT) C2891002 3 SAMPLE Be target.
