C3043001 24 SAMPLE The areal density of 7Li in the film was determined C3043001 25 to be 181.101*10**15 atoms/cm2, and the areal density C3043001 26 of F was 195.785*10**15 atoms/cm2. The uncertainty in C3043001 27 the areal density measurements was determined to be C3043001 28 5.1% for 7Li and 11.47% for 19F based on the fitted C3043001 29 spectra from SimNRA. Accounting for the natural C3043001 30 abundance of the isotopes of lithium (7.5% 6Li and C3043001 31 92.5% 7Li), the LiF film stoichiometry is very C3043001 32 close to 1:1. The equivalent thickness of the film is C3043001 33 42.593 nm when assuming a LiF density of 2.64 g/cc. C3043001 34 The estimated thickness from Lebow was stated as 50 C3043001 35 nm, showing close agreement between this measurement C3043001 36 and the manufacturer's specification. C3043001 37 METHOD The 7Li cross section measurements were made using a C3043001 38 thin lithium fluoride (LiF) film deposited on a C3043001 39 molybdenum (Mo) substrate prepared by Lebow Company. C3043001 40 The measurements were taken at 100 keV incident C3043001 41 energy steps. C3043001 42 ANALYSIS The differential cross sections were obtained using C3043001 43 the equation dsigma/dOmega = Y/(Q*Sigma*Nt), where Y C3043001 44 is the yield of each reaction, obtained by C3043001 45 integrating the peak of the nuclear reaction product C3043001 46 of interest, Q is the collected charge, Sigma is the C3043001 47 solid angle of the detector, and Nt is the areal C3043001 48 density of the target isotope. C3043001 49 ERR-ANALYS (DATA-ERR) The error in the cross sections was C3043001 50 calculated with as a square root of errors of yields, C3043001 51 collected charge and areal density added in C3043001 52 quadratures.
