C3046001 20 DETECTOR (SCIN,SI,TELES,HPGE) The neutron array consisted of C3046001 21 ten detectors from the ORNL Deuterated Spectroscopic C3046001 22 Array (ODeSA) and was used to measured neutrons at C3046001 23 the laboratory angles from 28.3 to 164.8 degrees, C3046001 24 while the other neutron array of eight 1 in. x 1 in. C3046001 25 cylindrical stilbene detectors covered the laboratory C3046001 26 angular range from 20 to 160 degrees. Charged C3046001 27 particles were detected using two sets of silicon C3046001 28 detector telescopes placed at the laboratory angles C3046001 29 of 45 and 135 degrees. Secondary gamma rays from C3046001 30 deexcitation transitions in 7Be, 13C, 13N, and 17F C3046001 31 were observed using high purity germanium detectors C3046001 32 placed at 45, 90, and 135 degrees. C3046001 33 SAMPLE Metallic enriched 6Li targets, with a 200 microg/cm2 C3046001 34 nominal thickness. 6Li targets were prepared using C3046001 35 the vacuum evaporation technique. Carbon foils with a C3046001 36 20 microg/cm2 thickness of microg/cm2 were used as C3046001 37 backings. C3046001 38 METHOD (TOF,ACTIV) The time-of-flight method was applied for C3046001 39 ODeSA detectors by taking the neutron's arrival time C3046001 40 relative to the accelerator buncher timing. This C3046001 41 provided additional information about the neutron's C3046001 42 energy in addition to that obtained from ODeSA's C3046001 43 spectrum unfolding technique. Activation runs were C3046001 44 performed at deuteron energies between 2 and 15 MeV C3046001 45 and at a proton energy at 3.5 MeV [to check against C3046001 46 the 7Li(p,n)7Be reaction].
