Beam current was calculated from D0615 1 17 the activity of one of the produced zinc isotopes D0615 1 18 and the activation formula and compared with the D0615 1 19 value based on the total beam charge deposited on the D0615 1 20 target, which was measured by a calibrated beam D0615 1 21 current integrator (in the case of the first stack, D0615 1 22 the beam current was 0.975 mu-A, in the case of the D0615 1 23 second stack, 1.050 mu-A, and in the case of the D0615 1 24 third stack 0.810 mu-A). D0615 1 25 SAMPLE Three stacks were irradiated in order to minimize D0615 1 26 the effect of beam energy dispersion. 20.0 mu-m thick D0615 1 27 Mo foils were used. For beam monitoring 10.6 mu-m D0615 1 28 thick Cu foils and as a beam energy degrader one or D0615 1 29 two 55 mu-m thick Cu foils, exceptionally one D0615 1 30 23.7 mu-m Cu foil. In the third stack, two 14.4 mu-m D0615 1 31 Ni foils were inserted as further beam monitors. Each D0615 1 32 stack was finished by as many 250 mu-m Ag foils as D0615 1 33 necessary for total beam stop that were directly D0615 1 34 cooled from the reverse side by water.
