In order to avoid contamination of the yield M0496 1 12 data with the effects of oxygen resonances, the GeO M0496 1 13 samples were reduced to metallic germanium. The M0496 1 14 targets were fabricated into wafers with a beam M0496 1 15 interception area of about 1.5 cm**2 and average M0496 1 16 weight of 0.98 g. For yield curves obtained M0496 1 27 from direct neutron detection the multiplicity-bin M0496 1 28 analysis of the neutron counts for each individual M0496 1 29 beam burst allowed the statistical extraction of the M0496 1 30 reaction multiplicities. The form of the spectrum M0496 1 31 and the reaction rates were calculated using the M0496 1 32 algorithm for nonlinear regression. Initial M0496 1 33 estimates for the reaction rates were calculated M0496 1 34 using statistical goryachev's method. The reaction M0496 1 35 rates were divided by beam monitor response to form M0496 1 36 uncorrected yields. The final (or reduced) yields M0496 1 37 were calculated by the application of an M0496 1 38 energy-dependent correction for the response of the M0496 1 39 beam monitor to the bremsstrahlung beam. For yield M0496 1 40 curves obtained from residual radioactivity M0496 1 41 measurements raw data were recorded as a series of M0496 1 42 g-ray spectra containing peaks from all activities M0496 1 43 of interest, a computer code was devised to locate M0496 1 44 desired peaks, obtain the area of each peak, and M0496 1 45 correct for the response of the beam monitor. The M0496 1 46 area of each peak was calculated by numerical M0496 1 47 integration after fitting and substracting off the M0496 1 48 background spectrum. these areas were divided by the M0496 1 49 beam monitor response to form the reduced yields.
