M067600100044 COMMENT Cross sections of the 186W,187Re,188Os(g,n) reactions M067600100045 were measured using quasimonochromatic photon beams M067600100046 from laser Compton scattering with average energies M067600100047 from 7.3 to 10.9 MeV. The results are compared with M067600100048 the predictions of Hauser-Feshbach statistical M067600100049 calculation using four different sets of input M067600100050 parameters. In addition, the inverse neutron capture M067600100051 cross sections were evaluated by constraining the M067600100052 model parameters, especially E1 strength function, on M067600100053 the basis of the experimental data. The present M067600100054 experiment helps to further constrain the correction M067600100055 factor F-sigma for the neutron capture on the 9.75 M067600100056 keV state on 187Os. Implications of Fsigma for Re-Os M067600100057 cosmochronology are discussed with a focus on the M067600100058 uncertainty in the estimate the age of a galaxy.
