At energies belowO0915 1 18 2.7 MeV three detectors (25 mm**2,100 mum) and at O0915 1 19 higher energies two (25 mm**2,300 mum) detectors were O0915 1 20 used. O0915 1 21 SAMPLE The helium targets were prepared by implanting 60-KeV O0915 1 22 He-4 ions in 1.50-mum thick tantalum foils. The O0915 1 23 resulting helium depth distribution has a mean range ofO0915 1 24 180 nm and a width of 85 nm. O0915 1 25 METHOD (MOMIX) O0915 1 26 ERR-ANALYS (DATA-ERR,6.,7.) The uncertainties in the cross O0915 1 27 section values, increase from 6% at the low energy O0915 1 28 and to 7% at the high energy end. These uncertainties O0915 1 29 result from statistical errors and background O0915 1 30 subtraction uncertainties in the helium peak area O0915 1 31 determination and from the uncertainty in the helium O0915 1 32 content. When comparing the cross sections taken at O0915 1 33 different energies these relative values are more O0915 1 34 accurate with an estimated inaccuracy below 3%.
