About ENDF/EVA

The evaluated nuclear reaction databases, ENDF or EVA, store nuclear data from the major evaluated libraries:

• ENDF: Evaluated Nuclear Data File: U.S. and Canada;
• JEFF: Joint Evaluated Fission and Fusion File: Nuclear Energy Agency;
• JENDL: Japan Evaluated Nuclear Data Library: Japan;
• CENDL: China Evaluated Nuclear Data Library: China;
• BROND: Library of Recommended Evaluated Neutron Data: Russia.

Evaluations were prepared for these libraries based on the data needs of various applications. The application controls many features of the system including the choice of materials to be included. Each evaluation is complete for its intended application.

The evaluated libraries are stored in the ENDF Format , developed by the Cross Section Evaluation Working Group (CSEWG) for the storage of evaluated nuclear data, and updated periodically, as the need for new types of data or more information arose.
