Three test cases are included below in order to test EMPIRE-II
installation and to provide a brief introduction to the use of the code.
They illustrate basic features only and do not address variety of possible
options. Each test case is given as a tarred and gzipped file (.tgz)
containing input and all output files created during the run. When
downloaded and saved in the empire/work directory these files should be
untarred and uncompressed with the command:
tar xvzf 'test_case_name'.tgz
This will create a number of files which can be viewed using GUI after
an appropriate test_case_name (without extension) is introduced into the
GUI 'Project' field. Note that running calculations will overwrite output
files. To be able to compare the results one should make a copy of the
input file and run this instead of the original one.
- eu153dir.tgz -
Coupled Channel (CC) calculations of inelastic scattering and (n,g)
reaction on 153-Eu at incident energy of 1 MeV using RIPL optical model
potentials (omp). Note that CC #2004 omp is used for total, elastic, and
inelastic scattering calculations with ECIS (DIRPOT=-2004 option in the
input) while spherical RIPL omp #221 (OMPOT=-221 option in the input) is
used for the calculation of all neutron transmission coefficients. This
is consistent with the DIRECT=1 option selected in the input. Use of the
CC omp in all neutron channels would require lengthy DIRECT=2 option.
- eu153preq.tgz -
Calculations of neutron induced reactions on 153-Eu at 14 MeV using
combined MSD, MSC, Exciton and HF models.
- nb93.tgz (11.6
Mb!) - Full calculations of neutron induced reactions on 93-Nb in
the energy range from 0.001 to 27 MeV using combined MSD, MSC, Exciton
and HF models. This test case includes ENDF formatting and plots
comparing theoretical predictions with experimental results.
