NEUTRON CROSS-SECTION STANDARDS, 2006
An IAEA Nuclear Data Section Initiative
IMPROVEMENT OF THE NEUTRON STANDARD CROSS SECTIONS (FOR LIGHT ELEMENTS)
An IAEA Nuclear Data Section Coordinated Research Project
OBJECTIVES
- Improve the methodology for the evaluation of the covariance matrix of the uncertainty in R-matrix model fits, and evaluate light element standards, for acceptance by the international community. The resulting data and methodology will be used further to undertake evaluations for light and heavy element standards.
- Publish Technical Report, and make the new library of reaction cross section standards available online and for distribution on CD-ROM.
ACTIVITIES
- Project was approved on 10 October 2001, and initiated later that year.
- 1st Research Coordination Meeting was held in Vienna, 23-27 September 2002.
- 2nd Research Coordination Meeting was held in Gaithersburg, U.S.A., 13-17 October 2003.
- 3rd Research Coordination Meeting was held in Vienna, 18-22 October 2004.
- Numerical Data uploaded on webserver, 23 January 2006.
